Most people ask, “Where did we (Robert and Ryan Wood) get the documents?” We got them from Timothy S. Cooper.
Timothy was born on November 28, 1948 in El Paso, Texas, and grew up at Alamogordo and Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico between 1948-1953. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1974. He was granted a Secret and later Top Secret clearance in communications and saw combat in the Vietnam War. In civilian life Timothy was employed as a optical technician with Cavitron Corporation and as a Senior Technical Writer for Baxter International. He received his detective training in Advanced Investigations in 1989 from the Nick Harris Detective Academy whereupon he worked for several private investigative agencies, security departments and individual clients for twelve years. He is a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO) and is now retired from the investigation/security field. He maintains a private office in Big Bear Lake, California where he makes his living as a professional researcher and writer.
In the spring of 1992 Tim received the Marilyn Monroe document from what Tim believes to be a former CIA employee — most likely an archivist or someone with access to obscure classified historical files. The document arrived in the PO Box as normal mail. Later, Tim provided it to Milo Speriglio who runs the Nick Harris detective agency where Milo first published it. The publication spawned further popular publicity in UFO Magazine and was shown on the Fox Television program Encounters in August 1994, which was the highest rated exclusive for Encounters. To the best of our knowledge Milo is the lead investigator on this document and has considerable unpublished investigation results.
Then in the summer of 1992, a Legionnaire (a member of the American Legion) that Tim made contact with gave him Twining’s Air Accident Report. Tim latter forwarded the document on to Leo Stringfield (deceased), who published the document in his 1994 Status Report No. 5. Cooper was given the document in the parking lot of the Big Bear Legion Post. The description of the Legionnaire is being withheld by Tim to protect his source.
Starting in the fall of 1992, Cooper began receiving apparently classified documents in his Post Office Box from an unknown person naming himself “Cantwheel.” Cooper, not knowing how to evaluate these documents, contacted UFO researcher and author Stanton Friedman, who said, “Well, a friend of mine, Bob Wood, lives in Southern California. Why don’t you talk to him as you would with me?” So Bob initially and later Bob and Ryan visited Tim from time to time to discuss the direction of our research and pick up these leaked documents for analysis and authentication.
In general, our opinion is that Tim is basically honest, hardworking and has very low motivation to forge anything. We have hired Tim as a consultant to research and write about the new Majestic documents. We can assure the sums involved are negligible motivation to fake these documents, given the massive multi-year effort that would have been required.
In addition, we believe him to be a man of integrity who honors his promises, such as promises to conceal his sources at their request.
Below is a downloadable Acrobat PDF file of the two affidavits that Cooper developed, signed and had notarized.

Mysterious Watcher Letter Sent To Ryan Wood About Timothy Cooper
The letter talks about Mr. Cooper in frank and at times unflattering way, although we do learn that Cantwheel’s name is “Thomas Cryll ‘Cy’ Cantwheel” and that Tim’s research is on target. Other factoids are that Tim’s father was in USAFOSI from 1949–1963 and that Tim “has been used by certain groups for ‘processing.’ I am not at liberty to disclose what this means. In time it will be made clear.” It closes with advice for Bob and Ryan Wood…”Don’t stop. A fish will drown once he stops swimming.”
